New moon release and receive
What old energies do you want to clear to make space for something new?
What needs to die in me, in you, in us, so something new can be born?
What seeds would you like to plant to help build a new world?

A love note
A love note:
To all living beings—other than human and human
To our collective family
Our collective existence

Tension in the reflections and intentions
It’s a strange world we live in. Jarring. Disjointed. Full of natural beauty and moments of deep joy and love on one hand. And on the other hand, full of human-created, preventable, unnecessary catastrophe and horror. We can practice holding space for the joy and the pain.

Sumud (steadfast)
These are her words:
“Whatever happens, we won’t leave
This is the land of our parents and grandparents
We are not leaving, we are not leaving
Steadfast, steadfast
And again, steadfast”

Prayer for action
Every step, breath, heartbeat
For + toward
Truth
Justice
Accountability
Reparations
Land back

Winter Solstice grief bowl
Sometimes lingering grief can be a message, a reminder, a call to action…

Forest of the world
A tree
With all the other trees
Connected to and through the global energetic root system and mycelium network
Through it we rebuild, rewire new patterns and pathways

Expand beyond comfort
If it doesn’t hurt, isn’t scary, isn’t uncomfortable, if we’re not risking something or giving something up, then I/We are not doing enough. We each must start where we are, every day. “Do something that scares you every day.” For the good of the collective. Expand. Push beyond our comfort zones.

Ancestral water clearing
On the soft, silty bank of the cold mountain stream
Pre-dawn, bright gentle moonlight
Mountainside, near the forest edge

Fortify courage

Her husband’s birthday too
I lie awake at 2am.
It’s my husband’s 50th birthday today.
I love him so much yet it hurts to think of celebrating…
When it falls apart
When it falls apart, remember to breathe. Sit still, if only for five minutes. Be there in that moment, which is the only moment that exists. Breathe and notice. Let whatever emotion is bubbling up to bubble up.

We can learn to love like the sun
The Sun Never Says (a poem by Hafiz)
Even
After
All this time
The Sun never says to the earth,
“You owe
Me.” …

The seed of mindfulness
I made this little card to put on my desk to remind me of the choice I have every moment of every day. Thich Nhat Hanh reminds us that “Every one of us has a seed of forgetfulness and a seed of mindfulness inside…”
