Sacrifice
Sacrifice
I am not healthy unless my community is healthy,
unless the collective is healthy,
unless Mother Earth is healthy
I am not free
I am not whole
To be whole, I must work for the wholeness of all others and the Earth
The liberation and freedom of all others and the Earth
dismantling, disrupting, destroying
to rebuild and recreate
It’s true, this is a marathon not a sprint. But a marathon requires sacrifice, pain, discomfort, constant attention, and action over a long period. It requires giving things up to train and keep your body healthy—giving up lots of time, certain things you love, certain habits and patterns, certain comforts. A marathon is not a chill status quo event! It’s a major commitment you work really hard and give up a lot for over a long haul, while experiencing a lot of physical, mental, emotional discomfort—even loss and pain.
Sacrifice
I don’t have it figured out, but I do know that we’re not doing enough.
Not uncomfortable enough.
Not unsettled enough.
Not risking or resisting enough.
Not sacrificing enough.
What you sacrifice, what will I sacrifice, to disrupt genocide and the system that genocides?
